Serendipity

Exhibition no. 3.- Serendipity. Solo show by Enrique Reinking, photography. From Friday, August 21th, to Thursday, August 26th, 2015.

When I think about my brother, I remember him with his camera. It’s impossible to think about him without it. His eternal companion that allowed him to be himself. Thanks to his images he could channel his good sense of humor, his pain and love for others.

Every time Enrique showed me his last picture, he showed me also his love for color, the tragic, the comic and the sublime. He showed me his way of looking, of finding images that others did not see. The photos he left, giving us permission to admire the beauty and the abstract that surround us, are the legacy and his imprint in this world.

This exhibition is a tribute to his talent, his creation and his soul.

Andrea Reinking

With a permissive style and a particular taste for the indigenous, the popular, the family, the nature and the calmly spaces, the photographer manages to steal almost involuntarily, some moments that seems to be evening walks, long strolls or simple wanderings.

With varied interests, he captures images that alter and enlarge our notions of what is worth seeing and what we should have the right to observe: children in flagrante, thoughtful elders, small town scenes manifested in all its color and vivacity, desolated landscapes, action sequences that may happen in seconds or hours, extended glimpses to heaven, or fleeting glances to the pavement.

Enrique Reinking also liked photographing details and distortions, perhaps his most poetic and less narrative work. We can see in them his broad interest in textures, sensory an intuition.

The selection of photographs is shown with an eclectic character, in order to expose his unrevealed desire to create an inventory of the world and manifest in images, only and sketch of his spirit.

With truthfulness and honesty before the lens, his judge, he manages to discover in a casual and unexpected way, a series of moments that will not return, but that can easily reappear in anyone’s life.

This is achieved by his particular ability to notice when he had found something, even if it is not what he had originally wanted. He had the incredible ability to portray everyday life, the capability to coexist between the incidental and the pursued, the dexterity to stumble with the things he was not seeking, and to differentiate the logical from the absurdity to stand magically between them.
